Damoxus Custom Double-headed Axe

The double-headed axe (also called a labrys or Danish battle-axe variant) appears throughout Norse and Viking-age iconography as a symbol of power and symmetry. The Damoxus Custom Double-Headed Viking Axe takes that historical form and builds it to functional specifications—not as a decorative approximation, but as a properly constructed piece with real steel, real wood, and real joinery.

The Axe Head
Both cutting heads are forged from high-carbon steel and heat-treated for sharpness and edge retention. The dual-head symmetry is precise — both sides are balanced to the same profile, which matters both aesthetically (for display) and practically (for balance during handling). The steel is finished with a clean, lightly textured surface that shows the hand-forging process without being artificially distressed.

The Handle
28 inches of premium ash wood — the same timber used in historical Norse weapon handles for its combination of strength, flex, and shock absorption. The leather wrap begins just below the axe head and runs the full grip length, providing a non-slip surface and a traditional aesthetic that looks right with the Norse-style head.

Construction
The axe head is fitted and secured to the handle using traditional wedge-and-fit joinery reinforced for modern use. The connection is solid — no wobble, no movement under normal handling or display conditions.
